Drupchu to protect from evil spirits and Malaria

Here at this spot at Damchu (Phuentsholing-Thimphu Highway) Lam Ngawang Drukpa of Tshamadrak Monastery built a stone statue of Dorje Namjon (Vajra Vidharana) and consecrated elaborately. After that he revealed this sacred Drupchu for the benefits of all people.
(Lam Ngawang Drukpa)
This was done so that people traveling to India can counteract negative influences from evil spirits and protect them from Malaria. In the past the route to Pasakha entrails through this area and with the absence of water on the way, people are bound to drink this Drupchu thereby protected.

Based on this Drupchu the place was named Dangchu (Clear Water) but later the pronunciation became Damchu which literally mean mud water.
This drupchu is also believed to cure plague, epidemic and apparition (ghostly disturbance).

Terton Drukdra Dorje also drank this water and blessed it. As such, the Drupchu is considered sacred with all the good signs and auspiciousness.

Please pass on the message to people to stop here and drink Drupchu before proceeding to Phuentsholing to reap the benefits of its intended purpose.

Usually, the road is so good that people are in no mood to stop than to continue on top gears.

When consuming recite the following Mantra:
ན་མཤྕཎྜ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཡ། ཧུ་ལུ་ཧུ་ལུ། ཏིཥྛ་ཏིཥྛ། བྷནྡྷ་བྷནྡྷ། ཧ་ན་ཧ་ན། ཨ་མྲྀ་ཏེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ། ཞེས་སོ།
(NAMASH CHANDA VAJRA KRODHAYA HULU HULU TISTHA TISTHA BANDHA BANDHA HANA HANA AMRITE HUM PHAT)

I always make a point to drink when ever I pass by.

Lastly I pay tribute to Lam Ngawang Drukpa for revealing this sacred Drupchu.
