Tselung Nye a sacred Guru Rinpoche’s holy site that prolongs the life after visit.(Tselung Monastery

(Tselung Monastery)
Guru Rinpoche has sanctified many sites throughout Bhutan, thus guaranteeing all devotees an equal opportunity to get his blessing through numerous images left on rocks. If we visit such Ney we bond directly with Guru Rinpoche and help in liberating our self.

Among many Nyes, Tselung Nye is one of the sacred Nye located west of Thimphu. One has to pass Gidakom Hospital and cross Tseluna village to reach there. It is bit far but accessible by vehicle.

The Nye is positioned on the hill slope. The visit begins with a visit of a cave before reaching to vehicle parking ground. It is located below the road. Here there is a cave that test ones virtue and sin. It is quite narrow and looks difficult. I managed to pass through and was happy about the outcome.
On the other side of the river, you will come across a Rocky Tent Place where Guru Rinpoche did his contemplation.

Nearby, by placing images I prayed. This rock is believed to be the main entrance door of the Ney.
After that I returned to the motor road and walk straight towards the Monastery.

You will first encounter “Tse chhu”, Hundred Dakinis’ holy water for long life. You should drink the water to extend your precious life.
(The chhu)
On the right side of the Tse chhu, a majestic Skull of celestial beings is seen. Get the blessing.

Toward the far left from the Skull of Celestial Being, you will see a Hermitage of Khandro Nangkha Dolma.

Moving up and on reaching Mani Dungkhor one can see the fabulous Monastery constructed by 32nd Je Khenpo Tshetrim Gyaltshen. On the way to Monastery you will come across a stone seat used by 32nd Je Khenpo.
At the Monastery entrance, the most desired map of the Ney is displayed that aid you to reach all sacred sites.

We went inside the Monastery offered butter lamps, incense sticks, fruits and other eatable items. Made prostration. The Lama than gave brief account of the monastery and Ney. Listening to his explanation, one automatically dissolves in the merits of the Ney, the Monastery.
The Lama than took us to the main Hermitage of Guru Rinpoche located just below the Monastery. It is small locked room. Inside one can see the impression of Guru Rinpoche vividly. Here Guru Rinpoche meditated 4 months and could make himself immortal. This is the most sacred site.
The Lama directed us to go and see Guru Rinpoche’s Lhatso, Life Lake where Guru Rinpoche was believed to have hidden the sacred religious treasures above the Monastery.

We are asked to exercise silence while passing through some Tshamkhangs and Tselung Yueselcholing Drupdra.

Moving down from the Tshamkhang, we saw Lhacham Pemasal’s Skull filled with the water of longevity and adjacent to that was the out of the ordinary Lhatso.
We returned and explored the other important Neys located across the river.
Crossing the river using beautiful wooden cantilever bridge we first saw the wonderful Crown Hat of Guru Rinpoche.

Beside the Crown Hat you will come across a large rock with dints of different prints, namely the out of the blue Hand Print of Guru Rimpoche, Rosary Bead, Wisdom Eye, the letter (Ah) and two male female Gold Fish.

Just moving few steps you will find Resting Place of Guru Rinpoche.
Taking the tail upwards you will come across an artifact of Guru Rinpoche’s Riding Horse.

Thereafter toward right you will see opened Beak of Garuda.
Walking further up near to the river, there were the exciting footprints of cow and calf on the rock.
Moving up you will reach to the jaw-dropping stone vase where Guru Rinpoche and Khandro believed to have taken bath. It is a single big solid flat rock with few stone pools.

Opposite to the stone vase that is separated by the river, you will see one of the most important legacies, the worthy of note the Religious Medicine Pill.

There are two life prolonging artifacts, Tseyi Bumpa ( Life long Vase) and Tseyi Rilbu (Life long Medicine pills).
The Life Long Vase is at Drakphu Maritika and Life Long Medicine pills is here at Tselung Ney.
As such Visiting Tselung Ney has same merits of visiting Drakphu Maritika in Nepal.

Tselung Nye was blessed by Guru Rimpoche and Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal between the 8th and 9th century and hidden many sacred religious treasures, making the place exceptionally holy.
The Nye was also blessed by Phajo Drugom Tharpa Gyaltshen (1179-1249), Gyalwang Je Kunga Paljor (1428-1476), Drukchen Ngawang Chogyal (1465-1540), Drukpai Wangchuk Kunga Lekpa (1455-1570), PelingThuksey Dawa Gyentshen (1499-1587), Neyphu Tulku Yongzin Ngawang Drakpa (1525-1599), and religious king Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who visited the place in person on their way to Paro via Pumola and Drela.

Terton Drukdra Dorji, while in Pumola, received many prophecies from the Dakinis and in accordance with these prophecies; he came to Tselung Nye and discovered many powerful treasures.

It is truly a wonderful Nye to visit as Guru Rimpoche and Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal who have left behind their amazing prints and many other attention-grabbing artefacts in the rocks apart from hiding many treasures visited the place.

There is also meditation quarter, popularly known as the Place of Gathering of the Dakinis, which was extended by the 32nd Je Khenpo Tsheltrim Gyaltshen who was an accomplished siddha in the mantra of Khandro Senge Donchen, the lion-headed Dakinis.

It was believed that Guru Rimpoche had hidden many sacred treasures at Tselung Nye and that made the place exceptionally divine and blissful.
Among many sacred places sanctified by Guru Rimpoche in our country, Tselung Nye is one of the most sacred pilgrim sites visited for long life.
Every year many Bhutanese go outside Bhutan for a pilgrimage spending heavy expenditure not knowing there are countless holy sites in the country that are more sacred than any holy sites in the Himalayas.

Please visit the site to receive the life long blessings. Go in formal dress.
